Overview
If you’re dreaming of witnessing the Himalayas up close without taking on extreme altitudes, this 12-day trek is the perfect adventure. The Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp trek combines two of the most iconic viewpoints in Nepal into one unforgettable journey. It’s designed for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those who want a rich cultural experience with moderate trekking difficulty.
Your journey begins in the lively streets of Kathmandu, then takes you to peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara. From there, the real magic begins – hiking through lush forests, stone-paved villages, and terraced hillsides, all surrounded by snow-capped mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
One of the biggest highlights comes early in trek: a sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), where golden rays light up a panorama of Himalayan peaks – an absolutely breathtaking sight. From there, you’ll continue deeper into the mountains, walking through charming Gurung villages and dense rhododendron forests, before finally reaching Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) a stunning natural arena of ice and rock surrounded by towering peaks.
This trek gives you a little bit of everything Nepal is known for: amazing landscapes, warm hospitality, mountain culture, and a touch of challenge without the extreme elevation risks of other high-altitude treks. After the mountain adventure, you’ll return to Pokhara to relax by the lake and enjoy the comforts of city life before heading back to Kathmandu. A warm farewell dinner with cultural dance wraps up the trip, leaving you with memories that last a lifetime.
