Overview
Everest View Trek is a popular trekking route in the Everest region of Nepal, offering secnice views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Although it does not take you all the way to Everest Base Camp, it provides a remarkable opportunity to witness the majestic beauty of the Himalayas and immerse yourself in the unique Sherpa culture.
Duration: The typical duration of the Everest View Trek is around 10 to 12 days, including arrival and departure days.
- Scenic Beauty: Throughout the trek, you will encounter stunning landscapes, including lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque valleys. The highlight, of course, is the incredible view of snow-capped peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku.
- Sherpa Culture: Everest view trek takes you through charming Sherpa villages, where you can interact with the friendly locals, explore ancient monasteries, and gain insights into their rich cultural heritage. Sherpas are renowned for their mountaineering skills and deep spiritual connection to the mountains.

- Tengboche Monastery: Situated at 3,867 meters, Tengboche Monastery is one of the most important religious sites in the Everest region. It offers a serene atmosphere and magnificent views of Everest and neighboring peaks. You may even have the chance to witness a Buddhist ceremony.
- Everest Base Camp Experience: Although the Everest View Trek does not reach Everest Base Camp, you can hike to an elevation that provides a stunning close-up view of the iconic peak. This is a great opportunity to capture memorable photographs and feel the immense power of the Himalayas.
Fitness Level and Difficulty: The Everest View Trek is considered a moderate trek suitable for people with a good level of fitness. It involves daily walking for around 5 to 6 hours, with some uphill and downhill sections. Prior trekking experience is not required, but regular exercise and preparation are recommended.
Best Time to Trek: The best time to undertake the Everest View Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. The weather is generally clear, and the views are stunning during these periods.
Permits: Trekkers are required to obtain the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit,TIMS and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit before starting the trek. Those permits can be obtained in Kathmandu or upon arrival in Lukla.
Safety: Safety is paramount during the trek. It is important to trek with a licensed guide, follow their instructions, and take proper acclimatization breaks to minimize the risk of altitude sickness.

Itineraries
Day 01: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek tor Phakding
Take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small mountain airstrip. Upon arrival in Lukla, start your trek to Phakding, a beautiful village situated at an altitude of 2,610 meters. The trail offers stunning views of the Dudh Koshi River and surrounding landscapes. Overnight stay in Phakding.
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Continue your trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through pine forests. You will reach Namche Bazaar, a vibrant Sherpa town and the gateway to the Everest region. Enjoy the lively atmosphere and explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar at an altitude of 3,440 meters.
Day 03: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
To aid in acclimatization, spend a day in Namche Bazaar. You can hike to Everest View Hotel, which offers spectacular views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Explore the town, visit the Sherpa Museum, and learn about the Sherpa culture and mountaineering history. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche
Leave Namche Bazaar and trek towards Tengboche. The trail offers breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, a significant spiritual site in the Everest region. Experience the tranquility and witness evening prayers if there is a ceremony. Overnight stay in Tengboche at an altitude of 3,867 meters.
Day 05: Trek to Khumjung
Descend to the village of Khumjung, located at the foot of Khumbila Mountain. Enjoy the serene surroundings and visit the Khumjung Hillary School, established by Sir Edmund Hillary. Interact with the locals and immerse yourself in the Sherpa culture. Overnight stay in Khumjung at an altitude of 3,790 meters.
Day 06: Trek to Monjo
Today, trek back towards Monjo, passing through Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the familiar sights and relish the memories of the trek so far. Overnight stay in Monjo at an altitude of 2,835 meters.
Day 07: Trek to Lukla
Continue your descent and trek back to Lukla. This is your final day of trekking in the Everest region. Celebrate the completion of your journey with your guide and fellow trekkers. Overnight stay in Lukla.
Day 08: Fly back to Kathmandu
Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a day of rest. You can explore the bustling streets of Thamel, indulge in souvenir shopping, or simply relax. In the evening, celebrate the successful completion of your trek with a farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
